Over 130
years of academic excellence in the catholic tradition.

Sacred
Heart School is a Pre K- 8 regional Catholic educational institution serving the
community of Staten Island, under the direction of the Office of Catholic
Education of the Archdiocese of New York.
Our school is accredited by the Commission on Elementary Schools of the Middle
States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Mission
Sacred Heart School is a Catholic elementary school serving
the educational and spiritual needs of children in pre-kindergarten
through grade eight in our community.
Sacred Heart School teaches Catholic
doctrine and emphasizes the development of Catholic ideals. We endeavor
to prepare each child to live as a true Christian witness in accordance
with the basic beliefs and values that are central to Christianity.
Our mission is to help each child
actualize his/her full capabilities in an atmosphere of academic
excellence and to spark and nurture a thirst for knowledge.
Our goal is to enable our students to become lifelong learners
capable of confronting the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
We recognize that each child is an individual endowed with unique
talents and abilities. We strive to enable our students to realize their
potential in all areas of development.
The pastor is an ex-officio chief
administrator of the school. The principal is the administrative head of
the school and is responsible for its effective operation as an
education institution within the standards and guidelines set by the
Archdiocese of New York and the New York State Board of Regents.
The teachers are highly
skilled professionals who work closely with the principal and the
pastor. Each individual teacher also follows the standards and
guidelines of the Archdiocese of New York and the New York State Board
of Regents.
At Sacred Heart School,
we recognize that the parents are the primary educators of their
children. Together we enter into a partnership of shared responsibility
in passing on the rich heritage of faith, love of country, and
educational excellence that each child deserves. Ultimately, it is our
expectation that every student will become a positive contributor to
society and a strong witness to the Catholic values that have been
taught.
